SPORTS NEWS

  • Ryan Barker delivered three made field goals, including a 48-yard kick, to help Penn State secure a 22-10 win over Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday. The reliable kicker now leads the Big Ten in field goal percentage, overcoming cold and windy conditions (over 10 mph) during the game.  Onward State
  • Three-star wide receiver Ben Whitver committed to Penn State football on Saturday (Dec. 27) after the Nittany Lions secured their Pinstripe Bowl win over Clemson. He is coach Matt Campbell’s eighth 2026 recruit and the first non-former Iowa State commit to join the team.  Onward State
  • The redshirt freshman Quinton Martin Jr. recorded his first 100-yard game during Penn State’s Pinstripe Bowl win, coming off the bench after 12 games without a carry. Martin said he felt honored to take over and is now weighing his future with his family.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton played in the Pinstripe Bowl despite some teammates opting out before the NFL draft and recorded 4 tackles with 2 sacks to boost his career total to 23.5.   • On Saturday, Dec. 27, Penn State won the low-scoring Pinstripe Bowl 22-10 against Clemson at Yankee Stadium. The Nittany Lions extended their win streak to four games with key plays from quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer and running back Martin.  StateCollege.com
  • Clemson’s standout players such as quarterback Cade Klubnik, making his 40th career start, and wide receiver T.J. Moore, now the main target, are set to test Penn State in the Pinstripe Bowl this weekend+ defensive end Will Heldt and safety Ricardo Jones could be key in disrupting Penn State’s offense.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State starting left tackle Drew Shelton declared for the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday and opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl after two seasons as a true senior. The Downingtown native is projected to be a Day 3 pick.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State released its final availability report ahead of the upcoming Pinstripe Bowl with Clemson. The report shows many players are unavailable due to injuries, transfers, and opting out, and running back Kaytron Allen is listed as questionable.  StateCollege.com
  • Penn State will face Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday + the two teams have met only once before in the 1988 Citrus Bowl when Clemson won decisively.  Daily Collegian
