- ➤ Shindig Alley, a mid-century vintage shop owned by Kevin Murphy, will pop up at Calder Way Pop-Up (236 E. Calder Way) this January and February, showcasing quality furniture, décor, vintage clothing and unique jewelry. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Penn State recently hosted its inaugural Industry Day for the Sustainable Labs Program where industry leaders and students built connections on sustainable lab practices. Advisory board feedback — including ideas for upcoming webinars and events — will guide the program’s future planning. Penn State
- ➤ In early November, Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Engineering hosted a BUILD Night at the Penn State Learning Center that allowed teams to design prototypes for reducing post-harvest food waste. - ➤ The Materials Research Institute invites Penn State faculty to submit proposals for its interdisciplinary seed grants for 2026-27, aiming to fund high-risk, high-impact collaborative projects. - ➤ Penn State revoked access to its Diligent file-sharing service for at least two trustees, creating a two-tier system in board communications amid an ongoing records dispute. - ➤ Penn State cornerback A.J. Harris had his roster profile removed on Monday and is reported to join the transfer portal next month. He becomes the fifth player to transfer after a season of reduced playing time & bench time, paving the way for freshman Daryus Dixson to see more snaps. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Freshman LB Alex Tatsch will miss Penn State’s Pinstripe Bowl against Clemson this Saturday due to an injury. Coach Terry Smith must adjust the lineup with a thinner linebacker core as game day approaches. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State baseball has secured the commitment of 21-year-old Japanese right-handed pitcher Genei Sato. He will leave Japan in the spring to take summer classes and join the team in 2027 — he is known for his high-90s fastball and low-90s splitter. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State football cornerback AJ Harris is expected to enter the transfer portal, leaving the team with one year of eligibility remaining. He is the fifth Nittany Lion to transfer since the season ended (Blue White Illustrated reported his inconsistent performance hampered his early promise). Onward State
