  • Sickos Committee is hosting a food drive for the State College Food Bank until Jan. 2 to support local residents after ranking Penn State football No. 1. Donors who contribute $25 will receive a gift.  Onward State

  • Podward State released its fourth season 13 episode featuring Mason Reber, the 54th Nittany Lion — he shares behind‐the‐scenes stories of gamedays and THON events while the student‐produced podcast streams on Spotify and YouTube.  Onward State
  • Bellefonte unveiled the final commemorative bell for America 250 on Friday night outside the train station at Talleyrand Park. The fiberglass bell (designed by Holly Foy and James Farrah) features images of the town's railroad and air mail history and is the fourth bell in the Bells Across PA initiative.  StateCollege.com

  • A collection of YikYak posts reflects Penn State students' reactions during finals week. The posts highlight quirky library moments and post-exam panic (including Wi-Fi issues), capturing the stress and humor of exam time.  Onward State

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Revised federal broadband rules have cut Pennsylvania’s planned spending from $1.1 billion to $790.7 million, state officials said. The changes favor satellite & wireless projects in rural areas as officials work to connect eligible locations amid evolving technology standards.  StateCollege.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State named Rob Dow the new head coach for the men's soccer team following Jeff Cook's resignation. Dow comes from Vermont with nine years of success and plans to build a winning culture as improvements to Jeffrey Field continue, including new operations + renovations set to finish in 2026.  Onward State
  • Penn State basketball lost 80-46 to Pitt on Sunday at the Giant Center in Hershey, dropping its record to 8-4. Coach Mike Rhoades said the young team faced inconsistency and must build competitive toughness ahead of upcoming games.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State wrestling broke Oklahoma State’s 74-year record with its 77th win after a shutout against Stanford on Saturday. The team’s freshmen stepped in to secure key tech falls in place of injured All-Americans (marking a record-setting streak) in a historic dual match.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State women's basketball lost 70-54 to Richmond Sunday in their nonconference finale, with 21 turnovers and missed defensive adjustments hurting the Lady Lions (Viktoria Ranisavljevic suffered a right ankle injury in the game). They will rest before facing No. 11 Iowa Sunday, Dec. 28 in their Big Ten opener.  Daily Collegian
