- ➤ Six Penn State materials researchers received the Rustum and Della Roy Innovation in Materials Research Award for work that promises societal impact and technological breakthroughs. The winners were honored in October at the Materials Day event in University Park. Penn State
- ➤ Transportation Services at University Park announced that spring 2026 student parking registration will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6. Students with a valid Penn State ID and vehicle license information must register online — limited permits are available based on residence or first-year status. Penn State
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Researchers at Penn State and Duke will use a 3D-bioprinted lung platform to study flu-bacteria interactions in University Park as part of a four-year, $3.2M NIH-funded project (the platform replicates breathing alveoli) (it advances research on viral and bacterial co-infections). Penn State
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Penn State track and field kicked off its 2025-26 indoor season in Boston, Philadelphia and Lewisburg with meet records and personal bests from top athletes - the team will host the Nittany Lion Challenge on Jan. 17. Daily Collegian
- ➤ On Monday, Dec. 8, Penn State introduced head coach Matt Campbell and confirmed that assistant coach Terry Smith will remain on staff with a four-year contract. Campbell praised Smith (a longtime team supporter) for helping unite the Nittany Lions during a challenging period. Daily Collegian
