CULTURE NEWS

  • A sensory-friendly performance of Ada Twist, Scientist and Friends at Eisenhower Auditorium (in October) drew over 1,500 school children, teachers and caregivers. The Center for the Performing Arts worked with TheaterWorksUSA to lower sound levels, dim house lights and allow flexible seating for a more inclusive experience.  Penn State
  • ClearWater Conservancy will open its 28th Art & Chocolate 2026 exhibition reception tomorrow from 4 to 8 p.m. at 3 Dots Downtown on E. Beaver Ave. The exhibition features artwork donated by local artists to support conservation efforts.  StateCollege.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Penn State alumnus Sean Stanton, class of 2009, has committed $50,000 to create a legacy scholarship at the College of IST honoring his mother and grandmother; the award will support full-time undergraduates, including first-generation students or those with a second major or minor in Education & Health and Human Development.  Penn State

SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State field hockey seniors Sophia Mannino and Ella Jennes earned NFHCA All-Mideast Region second team honors Wednesday, marking a highlight in their final season at Penn State. Mannino played in 13 games with one goal and one assist and Jennes scored seven goals over 16 starts.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State track star Florence Caron set multiple school records and led her team to strong finishes at the Big Ten and NCAA championships while inspiring teammates (known as the Florence effect) and preparing for her final season.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State Football signed four-star edge rusher Jackson Ford on National Signing Day when he signed his letter of intent after committing in June. Ford is ranked among the top players in Pennsylvania and the nation.  Onward State
  • Penn State women's soccer added midfielder Paige Kalal from Minnesota after she announced her transfer on Instagram last week. Coach Erica Dambach said the move will boost the midfield ahead of the senior season.  Daily Collegian
  • Wrestler Grey Burnett, the No. 6 ranked recruit in the Class of 2027, committed to Penn State Tuesday night via Instagram. He made his official visit during the opening dual against Oklahoma on Nov. 14 — joining four other recruits in a strong commitment class.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State men's volleyball named Ryan Merck and Owen Rose as captains for the 2026 season. The team will open their season with a game at 6 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Rec Hall against Mount Olive.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State men's basketball defeated Campbell 87-76, boosting their record to 8-1 & coach Mike Rhoades praised the team's free throw success & the team prepares for Big Ten play on Tuesday, Dec. 9.  Daily Collegian
  • Three Penn State women's soccer players Bella Ayscue, Kaitlyn MacBean and Amelia White were named honorees on the All-North Region team. MacBean scored 10 goals, White posted six goals and four assists, and Ayscue was recognized for her defensive efforts this season.  Daily Collegian
  • Four-star linebacker commit Terry Wiggins flipped his commitment from Penn State to Virginia Tech on CBS Sports College Football’s YouTube signing day stream (last Wednesday) after James Franklin's firing. He is ranked as one of the top players in the state and will join James Franklin in Blacksburg.  Onward State
  • Three Penn State football players were named to the All-Big Ten Third Team in 2025. Dani Dennis-Sutton, Amare Campbell, and Gabe Nwosu earned the honor while eight teammates received honorable mentions for their contributions over the season.  Onward State
  • Penn State’s Nittany Lions are heading to the NCAA Tournament in Austin, Texas when they open against South Florida at 5:30 p.m. on Friday (after a four-set win over Iowa secured their 45th straight NCAA appearance).  Daily Collegian
