- ➤ Honeygrow opened its new downtown restaurant on Monday at 10 a.m. at 160 E. Beaver Ave.—after a weekend of preview events, the chain marked its return to Penn State roots and now plans to offer catering and community partnerships while employing mostly local students. StateCollege.com

- ➤ American rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie will perform at 8 p.m. on April 24 at the Bryce Jordan Center — he will join performers Jason Aldean, Big Time Rush, and Journey. Insiders can purchase tickets at noon on November 19 — public sales begin at noon on November 21. Onward State

- ➤ Penn State alumnus Giancarlo Pitocco will deliver a public lecture (The trust gap: Why communications, not code, will determine AI’s future) on Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. in the Foster Auditorium at the Paterno Library as part of the Bronstein Lecture series, and he will meet with students and faculty on Dec. 2. - ➤ Penn State named William Donato Jr., Kathryn Donato, Donald Furmanski, and Janet Furmanski as the 2025 Fundraising Volunteers — recognizing their long service and strong leadership at the University. The awards will be presented this fall — honoring their work in supporting student scholarships and volunteer programs across campus. Penn State
- ➤ A $1.5 million grant from America Makes and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing is funding Penn State researchers to develop Digi—FOCUS, a digital twin foundry that uses robot-assisted additive manufacturing to modernize metal casting. The project led by Guha Manogharan will use advanced sensors and automation to improve efficiency and set the stage for future commercialization in domestic foundries. Penn State

- ➤ Longtime volunteers and philanthropists Julie and Jason Borrelli donated $2 million to fund a mental health initiative at Penn State that will build the Learn to Flourish Design Hub in the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center. The new hub will let students and faculty design and test mental health interventions—projects will begin in spring 2026. Penn State
- ➤ Mount Nittany Health announced a $100,000 donation to the State College Food Bank as part of its Season of Giving—this effort comes as the county faces rising food insecurity among children, with rates increasing to 10.4% in 2022. The health system also launched an employee food drive to collect nonperishable items that will help local families during the holiday season. WTAJ

- ➤ On Monday, after a 28-10 win over Michigan State, interim head coach Terry Smith said he is grateful for the strong support and emphasized his deep connection to Penn State. The Nittany Lions will play a senior day game against Nebraska Saturday at 7 p.m.—seniors and emerging players like running back Kaytron Allen and freshman Daryus Dixson will be honored.
