SPORTS NEWS

  • No. 6 Penn State women’s hockey won 7-0 against Syracuse on Friday with goals by seven different players. The team scored in all three periods—demonstrating strong depth throughout the game.  Daily Collegian
  • Kaytron Allen rushed for 181 yards and scored two touchdowns against Michigan State on Saturday, helping Penn State secure its first win since mid-September and move within 138 yards of becoming the all-time leading rusher while averaging 7.2 yards per carry in the game. His season total now exceeds 900 yards on 163 carries with a 5.6 yards per carry average — a career best that places him among the top three in Penn State history for rushing yards.  Onward State
  • Penn State women’s soccer defeated Army 3—0 at 5 p.m. Saturday at Jeffrey Field and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in its 31st consecutive appearance.  Daily Collegian
  • No. 5 Penn State men's hockey (4–2) defeated No. 2 Michigan on Saturday night at Pegula Ice Arena, ending a three-game losing streak. Nic Chin-DeGraves scored an empty netter in the final seconds to secure a series split (the team will face Minnesota on November 21 at 8 p.m.).  Onward State
  • Penn State will face Nebraska on November 22 at Beaver Stadium with a 7 p.m. kickoff on NBC — the game is the first meeting at the stadium since 2017 and will be the final regular-season home game before the Lions travel to Rutgers.  Onward State
  • No. 6 Penn State women’s hockey beat Syracuse 11-2 on Saturday afternoon as the special teams scored shorthanded and power play goals, tying a program record and improving the team’s run to 14-0. The team will face RIT next weekend as it continues its undefeated season.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State's undefeated men's basketball team beat La Salle 83-69 in Philadelphia today after overcoming an early deficit with strong play from freshmen Kayden Mingo and Melih Tunca+ the win was their fourth this season and the team will host Harvard for the Fight for Literacy game at 6:30 p.m.+  Daily Collegian
  • Terry Smith earned his first win as interim head coach when Penn State beat Michigan State 28-10, and quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer started his first game (ending a six-game losing streak and marking the school's first win against a Power Four team this season). The Nittany Lions will play Nebraska at Beaver Stadium next as they try to secure a bowl bid (coaches say the win boosts team confidence).  Onward State
