- ➤ The Centre Area Transportation Authority is launching its annual canned food drive to support local families, with donation boxes available on buses starting Friday, Nov. 14—and at the customer service center on E. Beaver Ave to collect nonperishable items for the State College Food Bank and Lion’s Pantry. The drive will help meet increased community needs during the holiday season. WTAJ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Penn State’s Susan Welch Liberal Arts Building was evacuated Wednesday after crews heard a loud explosion and found a crack from the second floor to the roof with a 2-inch floor settlement—officials confirmed no injuries and are investigating the incident with police, fire, engineers and a bomb squad—and Fischer Road is closed for traffic. - ➤ Penn State was ranked as No. 27 for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs by the Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine (Nov. 12); the ranking showed the school improved by one spot, placing it at No. 4 among Mid-Atlantic schools (up one spot from last year). Penn State
- ➤ Penn State THON raised $2,077,353.59 during its Dream Forward campaign held Wednesday as part of the 100 Days 'Til THON event.
