- ➤ Today, Penn State Greek life will host Greek or Treat from 5 to 6 p.m. along Fraternity Row—children will receive candy at houses along Locust Lane and Fairmount Avenue. Onward State
- ➤ CATA will offer free roundtrip shuttles on Nov. 8 for active-duty and veteran service members with military ID to travel from Hills Plaza through downtown to Beaver Stadium—shuttles start three hours before kickoff and run until one hour after the game. Penn State

- ➤ Six candidates are running for four full-term seats on the State College Area School Board (including two incumbents and one appointee) while one candidate seeks a two-year interim position after a resignation. Voters will cast ballots on Nov. 4 with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and mail-in ballots were due by Oct. 28. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Rick Brazier is stepping down as dean of Penn State University College—he will return to teaching and look for new opportunities at the university. He will keep his role until a replacement is named. Onward State

- ➤ Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine said yesterday that donor Tom Golisano gave $50 million to name the Children’s Hospital and expand its care for kids. The gift will join the hospital with a national group of Golisano Children’s Hospitals & boost research and future care. Penn State

- ➤ Penn State women’s hockey freshman Matilde Fantin was named AHA Rookie of the Week after earning six points and winning 13 of her 22 faceoffs in the two-game series at Pegula Ice Arena—helping her team sweep Lindenwood and remain undefeated at the start of the 2025-26 season. The Nittany Lions will face Robert Morris on Friday, October 31 with the first game at 3 p.m. Onward State
- ➤ Coach Carolyn Kieger will lead the Lady Lions in their upcoming season at Rec Hall starting Monday, November 3, as the team seeks a turnaround after a tough run last year with a record of 10 to 19 and 10 consecutive conference losses—returning veterans like Gracie Merkle and Moriah Murray join key transfers to bolster the lineup.
