- ➤ Penn State will co-host the 10th annual PA-SARA Conference on Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center. Higher education professionals will gather to get updates and network on state authorization for distance education as registration closes on Nov. 14 or when capacity is reached. Penn State
- ➤ Zachary Vinitski, a top chemical engineering major with a 4.0 GPA, has been named the fall student marshal for Penn State College of Engineering and will be honored at the commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. on Dec. 21 at the Bryce Jordan Center — his appointment recognizes his strong grades and leadership. - ➤ In September, students from Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences volunteered at the 2025 U.S. Mid-Amateur Golf Championship in Scottsdale—helping care for the course and set up the event while learning key skills. - ➤ Researchers from Penn State and Columbia University published a study yesterday that showed Earth’s continents became stable only after the lower crust reached temperatures above 900°C—temperatures high enough to move radioactive elements and cool the deep crust. - ➤ Kennedy Martin earned Big Ten Player of the Week for a third time after strong wins over Wisconsin and Northwestern—she posted .474 against Wisconsin with 23 kills and 8 digs and .412 against Northwestern with 24 kills, helping move Penn State up two spots to No. 17 in the AVCA rankings.
