SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State women’s basketball announced Saturday that it will play games at Rec Hall on a more permanent basis in the 2025–26 season—specific game designations will be shared soon while the team continues at the Bryce Jordan Center.  Onward State
  • Penn State football lost a close 22—21 game to Northwestern at Beaver Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The tough defeat marked their third consecutive Big Ten loss and the Nittany Lions will face Iowa at 7 p.m. on October 18 at Kinnick Stadium.  Onward State
  • No. 19 Penn State women’s volleyball beat Northwestern 3—1 on Saturday night at Rec Hall to improve their weekend record after upsetting No. 7 Wisconsin earlier. The team will travel to face Washington at 10 p.m. Friday—continuing its season on the road.  Daily Collegian
  • The Penn State women’s volleyball team upset Wisconsin in the White Out match by winning all three sets—coach Katie Scumacher-Cawley said the players showed strong defense with key plays from captain Gillian Grimes and right-side hitter Kennedy Martin.  Daily Collegian
  • In Penn State's game against Clarkson on Friday, coach Guy Gadowsky and his players cheered after Lev Katzin body slammed Golden Knights defenseman Ty Brassington, sparking an energetic response from the crowd.   • No. 6 Penn State women’s hockey blanked Delaware in a series sweep by winning 5-0 last night and 7-0 in Game 2 to start the season 6-0—Grace Outwater scored a hat trick in Game 1 and freshman Maddy Campbell made her first start in net. The team will return to Pegula Ice Arena to face Mercyhurst at 3 p.m. Friday.  Daily Collegian
