- ➤ Michele Dunleavy gave the 2025 Mark Luchinsky Memorial Lecture yesterday — her talk highlighted her work in arts and architecture. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State's Center for the Performing Arts announced that The Joyfull free community program will return with events that offer catered meals and artist performances for local audiences. The series will begin with The Feast Edition on Oct. 13 from 6–8 p.m. at Alumni Hall, HUB-Robeson Center—more details will follow for upcoming editions. Penn State
- ➤ Sculptural dance ensemble Momix will perform Alice at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at Eisenhower Auditorium in a unique production inspired by Lewis Carroll—ticket holders will also enjoy a free pre-performance reception hosted by Penn Highlands Healthcare to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. - ➤ Penn State is hosting a weeklong series of cultural events from today to Oct.9 featuring a new concert by Parker McCollum at the Bryce Jordan Center and an acting workshop with Delroy Lindo in downtown State College — the University also offers readings, film screenings and lectures for students and local residents. - ➤ On Sept. 17, the Penn State Alumni Association honored 12 alumni with the prestigious Alumni Fellow Awards at University Park—recognizing their outstanding career achievements. Penn State
- ➤ Michele Dunleavy, a professor of dance and Penn State Laureate, will present a talk called Leadership Unscripted, The Power of Improvisation at Freeman Auditorium at HUB-Robeson Center on Oct. 20 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.—the free event is part of the Mark Luchinsky Memorial Lecture series and will include interactive elements and a performance by guest musician Eric Ian Farmer. - ➤ Vincent Cotrone, an urban forestry extension educator, will present a 75 minute webinar on Oct. 15 at noon that covers green stormwater infrastructure methods designed to improve water quality + reduce runoff. The webinar is part of a series by Penn State Extension that helps municipal leaders learn best practices in design and maintenance. Penn State

- ➤ Caroline Hunter, a Penn State senior in environmental resource management, gained hands-on experience on Chesapeake Bay projects during a summer internship at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection that helped farmers reduce runoff. She will continue her role this fall—expanding her knowledge of state policy and public service. Penn State
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Penn State Health has named Kyle Snyder as president and chief operating officer and Tracy Moyer as executive vice president and chief financial officer as part of a leadership change. Snyder will work with outgoing COO Deborah Addo through October—while Moyer uses her 20 years of experience to guide the health system's financial modernization and care improvements. Penn State

- ➤ Penn State Athletics revealed ticket info on Wednesday for the men’s hockey game with Michigan State at Beaver Stadium set for Jan.31st. Ticket sales open on Oct.15th for the general public while season ticket holders and select groups have early access and seats cost between $28—$78. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Penn State athletics has released student ticket details for the men's hockey game against Michigan State at Beaver Stadium on January 31; students can enter a lottery for a $24 ticket, with refunds given if not selected, and the request window opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, October 6—closes at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 10. The women’s hockey team will play Robert Morris on the same day, and their ticket information will be announced later. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State men's hockey defenseman Mac Gadowsky has transferred from Army to join his hometown team — playing for his father, head coach Guy Gadowsky. The junior said his record-setting season and creative style fit the fast and aggressive play at Penn State. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Penn State cheer twins Paris and Brooke Shanabrough have gone viral on TikTok for their game-day videos and have competed in cheer since childhood, including world championships from 2016 to 2020. They will serve as executive leaders next season, with Paris as a captain and Brooke managing the team’s Instagram (their videos show hard work and fun) while they balance cheer practice with school and plan to study medicine.
