  • State police at Rockview are asking for help finding 48-year-old David Arleth, Jr. who was last seen at noon on Aug 20 in the Nilson Road area of Walker Township near Zion—he is believed to be driving a navy blue 2016 Subaru Outback and may be at special risk.  StateCollege.com
  • Penn State University Police warned Nittany Lion fans that ticket scams are rising with 94 reports last year and many students lost money on social media, urging everyone to purchase tickets only from the official ticket office & Ticketmaster.  Penn State

  • Stuart Shapiro began his role as Penn State Smeal College of Business' chief marketing officer on Aug. 21 — he brings nearly 20 years of marketing experience from roles at WAMU and Duke and describes his appointment as a homecoming at his alma mater.  Penn State

  • Four Penn State graduate students are studying abandoned mine drainage in Beech Creek and gathering community input to boost efforts for watershed restoration — they will share their research findings at a reclamation conference in October.  Penn State

  • Penn State women’s volleyball setter Izzy Starck earned a spot on the AVCA All-First Serve Team on Wednesday after she posted 91 assists and two kills in wins over Creighton and Kansas — her strong play supports the team as it gets set for the season.  Onward State
  • Experts predict Penn State will finish the regular season 11-1 and face tough games against Oregon and Ohio State before competing for the national championship, with opinions split between a title win and a heartbreaking loss against Alabama—fueling debate about the team’s future.
