- ➤ The 22nd annual Crickfest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Coburn Park as the Penns Valley Conservation Association hosts a free event featuring live music, local food, and educational activities — including a Tunnel Trot race beginning at 9:30 a.m. StateCollege.com
- ➤ The Centre County Grange Fair gives people a chance to learn about farming + robotics with exhibits like tractor pulls, tent encampments and LEGO robot battles. The fair runs until Saturday, August 23 and offers hands-on experience in agriculture and STEM trends + skills. WTAJ

- ➤ On Wednesday, Penn State announced that the Lambda Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Sigma was suspended for at least four years after an investigation that began in March found hazing involving physical force and mental abuse—two fraternity leaders have been charged with assault and hazing. - ➤ Thousands of students and families will start moving into University Park housing this week as fall move-in begins with early arrivals allowed today for an additional fee. - ➤ Penn State defensive coach Jim Knowles praised cornerback Kenny Woseley Jr for his smart play in the nickel defense—naming him Defender of the Day during preseason practice—and mentioned junior Zion Tracy for the same role.
