- ➤ Centre Hall will host the 151st annual Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair at Grange Park, where local families camp and enjoy livestock exhibits and traditional fair events. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Emma Suzuki Szwajkowski was named as the College marshal for summer commencement on August 16 at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Media native—who studied in Japan and served as a Lion Ambassador—will lead her peers as she prepares to graduate. Penn State
- ➤ Brandon McDonald leads about 100 student tour guides at Penn State to give campus tours that help prospective students and families feel at home and know key sites. The tours last 90 minutes and stop at spots like the Berkey Creamery—where personal experiences bring the campus community to life. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State students facing crisis or hardship will soon receive teddy bears from the Because We Care Foundation in a new partnership with Penn State University Police and Public Safety. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Penn State’s fall semester starts Aug. 25, and student move-in will trigger traffic and parking changes in State College and on campus, with downtown restrictions beginning Aug. 16 and on-campus unloading starting Aug. 17.
