- ➤ A Centre County man from Boggs Township was arrested Tuesday night near Milesburg after a standoff when he threatened a woman with a gun; he now faces terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment charges with a preliminary hearing set for Aug. 20. StateCollege.com
- ➤ A Bellefonte man named Joshua Lynn Resides, 41, was arrested after a multi-hour standoff with police—following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly threatened his partner with a gun—and he is now held at Centre County Prison with a preliminary hearing set for Aug. 20. WTAJ

- ➤ Invent Penn State’s NSF I—Corps Short Course is accepting applications for a free virtual program that will run from Friday, Sept. 12 through Friday, Sept. 26 to help researchers test startup ideas through customer interviews and assignments. Applicants must complete a prep mini-course by Friday, Sept. 5 and commit to 5—10 hours a week during the course. Penn State
