- ➤ Bill and Connie Hayes—renowned philanthropists and community volunteers—were named the 2025 honorees by Penn State’s Renaissance Fund and will be celebrated at a reception on Nov. 11 in State College where they will lead efforts to expand scholarship support for students in need. Penn State
- ➤ Leslie Treas — a 1983 Penn State nursing alumna — worked in neonatal care before she helped change nurse training by co-founding Assessment Technologies Institute and co-authoring award-winning textbooks. She received the 2025 Alumni Achievement Award from the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing for her role in reshaping nursing education and licensure standards nationwide. Penn State

- ➤ A stretch of Route 2024—Old Erie Pike—will be closed starting tomorrow as PennDOT begins a bridge replacement project over Morgan Run. Motorists must take a detour via Routes 2051, 2049, 2028, and 2027 until mid-September weather permitting, officials said. WTAJ
- ➤ PennDOT announced crews will mill and pave a one-mile section of Route 45 from Deepwood Drive westbound to fix asphalt bleeding from a July project; work will begin Thursday, August 7 with paving on Friday, August 8 (weather permitting) while flaggers direct traffic. WTAJ

- ➤ Penn State men’s hockey announced jersey numbers for the 2025-26 season—freshman forward Gavin McKenna will be the first to wear No. 72 in program history, and the team will open against Arizona State on October 3 at 9 p.m. at Mullett Arena in Tempe. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State running backs Nick Singleton & Kaytron Allen were named to the Doak Walker Award watch list, making them contenders for college football's top running back honor. They were also added to the Maxwell Award watch list and both rushed over 1,000 yards last season while chasing the program's all-time record. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State women's soccer defenders Bella Ayscue and Kaelyn Wolfe were named to the United Soccer Coaches Defenders to Watch list on Tuesday—a preseason accolade following last year's NCAA tournament run as they also played for the U.S. Women’s Youth National teams.
