- ➤ The Pennsylvania State Police announced a sobriety checkpoint will be set up in Centre County in the upcoming weeks — drivers passing by will be briefly stopped to check for signs of alcohol, controlled substance use or any other violations. WTAJ

- ➤ A fox showing rabid signs—coming close to people and pets—was caught and put to sleep by local officials in State College after several days of effort, and tests later confirmed it had rabies so people who touched it got medical care. WTAJ

- ➤ Yesterday, downtown State College hosted the first State College Criterium, where about 250 cyclists from across Pennsylvania raced on a closed-loop course despite scattered thunderstorms—races spanned beginner to professional levels and crowned state champions in the elite and master categories.
