  • Residents learned about retiring racing greyhounds as pets when Nittany Greyhounds hosted a meet-and-greet at Pet Supplies Plus in the Northland Center on Saturday—volunteers brought the dogs so locals could see their friendly nature up close.  WTAJ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Emporium at State Burger Co. opened Saturday after four months of renovations by owners Dustin Smith and Sean Burke, offering nostalgic candies, craft sodas, freshly baked desserts and vintage items in downtown Bellefonte. The store now serves as the new entrance and waiting area for the restaurant — easing congestion for diners — with early pastry and coffee service planned in the coming weeks.  StateCollege.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State is preparing to close seven Commonwealth campuses, yet the 2024-25 season saw top athletes from 10 campuses break records in sports like soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, and track — marking a lasting legacy.   • Former Penn State second baseman Patrick Graham transferred to BYU after playing in 11 games for Penn State in 2024 and announcing the move on X on July 20—he began his college career at Wabash Valley College before joining Penn State.  Daily Collegian
