CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Ferguson Township man Larry J. Brickhouse, 51, was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in state prison on Friday by Judge Julia Rater after a grand jury investigation tied him to a high-level drug trafficking network that moved heroin, fentanyl and cocaine from New Jersey to the State College area — prosecutors said. - ➤ The Phi Beta Sigma Lambda Lambda chapter was charged with conspiracy organizational hazing after leaders reportedly physically punished and mentally abused pledges—pretrial hearings are scheduled for Aug. 13 and Sept. 15 as investigations continue. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Karston Chan, 22, of Montgomery County, was arraigned on charges of unlawful restraint, simple assault, and invasion of privacy after he reportedly struck, restrained, and recorded a woman during a sexual encounter in a University Park dorm room last fall (a preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 27), according to Penn State police.
