CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Ferguson Township police charged the Lambda Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Sigma with conspiracy to commit organizational hazing on Thursday after pledges said they were hit with paddles and punched at a Farmstead Lane house, and chapter dean Jacob D. Francis (previously charged for physical and mental hazing) and president Jayson Archer (also charged) face a preliminary hearing on Aug. 13 and a pre-trial conference on Sept. 15. StateCollege.com

- ➤ The 59th annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has drawn thousands to downtown State College and campus since Wednesday, with live music, art booths, and food vendors keeping the crowd excited. - ➤ Three Penn State wrestlers won gold medals at the U20 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, on Saturday. William Henckel, Connor Mirasola, and Cole Mirasola won all their matches by tech fall (combined score 91 to 0) and showed strong skill. Daily Collegian
- ➤ State College native Kevin Karstetter announced on July 11th on X that he committed to Penn State baseball after a decorated career that includes earning FCSAA Male Athlete of the Year at the State College of Florida and winning the D2 NCAA championship with Tampa.
