- ➤ A Missouri woman, Trista Lawson, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Centre County after allegedly speeding over 100 mph and leading a series of hit-and-run crashes that damaged vehicles and buildings—she is now held on $25,000 bail and faces multiple charges. WTAJ

- ➤ Arts Fest 2025 is underway in State College as hundreds of visiting artists join thousands of Penn State students for a weekend of art and music. - ➤ Han Chen, a doctoral student in Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture, has been awarded a Smithsonian Predoctoral Fellowship to work at the National Museum of Asian Art in Washington DC. She began the fellowship in June and will use primary sources to research her dissertation on early 20th-century Chinese art markets — an effort aimed at revealing global art exchanges. Penn State
- ➤ Lucy Bickel, an advertising major from Myerstown, has been working as an intern at GALE in Manhattan since May 20, where she has been doing work like competitor checks and learning about many creative jobs—she got inspired by a tour at One World Trade Center. - ➤ A Penn State employee filed a lawsuit claiming he was demoted and excluded from key meetings after reporting poor planning and potential waste in an outreach conference—he said the retaliatory actions cost him earnings and harmed his reputation. - ➤ On Monday, State College Borough Council President Evan Myers challenged U.S. Rep Glenn Thompson’s calls to review council minutes after the One Big Beautiful Bill Act led to SNAP and Medicaid funding cuts.
