- ➤ Students from State College Area School District's Delta Program received the Pennsylvania Governor's Civic Engagement Award for the second year in a row after registering 85% of eligible students to vote. Student Bailey Greenland also earned the Poll Worker Award for helping staff a voting location during the May primary under teacher Lynda Hauman's guidance. StateCollege.com

- ➤ On June 27, Centre County Crisis Intervention Team held a graduation ceremony at Ferguson Township Municipal Building where 11 new trainees from local agencies completed a 40-hour training program—bringing the total graduates to 508 and making the State College Police Department the first to be 100% CIT-trained. - ➤ Right-handed pitcher Kyle Lazer transferred to Penn State baseball out of the transfer portal and became the fourth new addition joining Kyle Emmons, Ben Hudson and Michael Anderson—he had an 8—3 record at West Chester last season and has two years of eligibility remaining. Onward State
- ➤ West Chester right-handed pitcher Kyle Lazer announced on Instagram his transfer to Penn State baseball after finishing his redshirt junior season with 13 starts, an 8-3 record, 75 strikeouts, a 3.17 ERA in 71 innings, and four complete games—earning him PSAC Eastern Division second team All-League honors. The Havertown native now joins the Nittany Lions following a standout year. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Over 600 players competed in the Laurel Highlands Tap Billiards Tournament at the Pasquerilla Conference Center on June 29 where 80 teams from Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties battled for a cash prize, the Morgan Cup and a spot in the national tournament in Sandusky (Ohio). Tournament founder Sam Rullo said the event boosted revenue for hotels and local businesses. WTAJ
