  • On Saturday, Roundhouse Harley Davidson hosted Bikers 4 Barkers—a motorcycle ride fundraiser to support the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society's new animal shelter as hundreds of bikers joined an 88-mile motorcade from Smithmill to the Roundhouse. The event helped the shelter raise $2 million of the $4 million needed, and organizers said community support remains crucial.  WTAJ
  • College Township, which was formed in 1875, is marking its 150th anniversary with a series of family-friendly events for residents. The celebrations include a barn dance at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, a baseball game on Aug. 9 with fireworks, a Soup and Song event on Sept. 19, and an official ceremony on Nov. 23 at the municipal building—where speakers will share the township's history and consider opening a time capsule.  StateCollege.com

  • Former Penn State men’s hockey forward Dylan Lugris signed with French team Cergy-Pontoise (Ligue Magnus) and will resume his career overseas as the only American on the team.  Daily Collegian
  • Incoming Penn State freshman Lev Katzin, 18, played in the OHL last season where he scored 48 points in 44 games after playing in the USHL and CHL as part of a November 2024 NCAA deal. Scouts say his strong playmaking—marked by quick passes and stickhandling despite size concerns—shows promise as he prepares to join Penn State for the 2025-26 season.  Daily Collegian
