- ➤ The historic State Theatre in downtown State College offers a unique movie experience by screening classic films and new releases so that viewers can enjoy a communal film event—film programmer Bob Livsey said the theatre is also planning a new membership program to reward loyal audiences. Upcoming screenings include 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' and 'The Boy and The Heron' on June 22, 'Up in Smoke' on June 26, 'Field of Dreams' on June 27, and 'Neighbors' on June 28. - ➤ Nine Penn State wrestlers and club members earned spots on the U.S. National Team after competing at Final X, with PJ Duke pinning his opponent at 70 kilograms+ marking a standout upset. The qualifiers now prepare for upcoming world championships and other international meets. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Jackson Smith, an 18-year-old left-handed defenseman who scored 54 points last season, committed to Penn State men’s hockey via Instagram on June 15—his decision was confirmed after earlier unconfirmed reports. - ➤ On June 15th, 1,100 athletes competed in Ironman 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley in Centre County, where the race began with a 1.2-mile swim at Sayers Lake, then moved to a 56-mile bike ride through local valleys, and ended with a 13.1-mile run on Curtin Road near Beaver Stadium.
