- ➤ Penn State’s interdisciplinary team and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay have received a $250,000 grant to study how conservation agriculture may affect dairy farm workers’ safety, work hours, and pay at six local farms. - ➤ Professor Ken Davis and his research group from Penn State are using advanced climate data collection and modeling to guide local strategies on urban heat and air quality, helping communities decide on measures like adding vegetation + using reflective surfaces for greater cooling and improved public health. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ PennDOT will begin reconstructing the bridge at the Pike Street/Houserville Road intersection on June 1, which will cause lane closures and detours on East College Avenue through mid-August — project work ending early November. StateCollege.com

- ➤ Penn State football’s season opener against Marshall is scheduled for Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. on FS1; this marks the teams’ third meeting, with previous contests before 1930 ending in wins for Penn State. Onward State
