Researchers at Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences received a nearly $309,000 grant from the U.S. Geological Survey to study PFAS movement in small agricultural watersheds in the Chesapeake Bay region — the project will guide farmers and watershed managers in reducing contamination risks.

Researchers from Penn State and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee have received a five-year, $3.2 million grant to study brain changes linked to fear memory and PTSD.

They will use mouse models to explore how proteins affect genes and may lead to better treatments for anxiety disorders (including why females may be more sensitive).

Special Olympics Pennsylvania kicks off its 15th Annual Be A Fan Torch Run today at 8:00 a.m. in Pittsburgh.
