- ➤ Pavers available in sizes (6x12, 6x6 and 4x8) can honor milestones at Alumni Plaza; orders received by Aug. 1 will be included in the fall 2026 installation near the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Proceeds will support student programs at Penn State. Penn State

- ➤ During the spring semester, Penn State Altoona History 144 students met with three World War II veterans at Foxdale Retirement Village in State College and toured local museums—such as the Gettysburg Museum of History—to connect with firsthand accounts and artifacts, deepening their understanding of the conflict. - ➤ Elizabeth C. Mansfield, a professor of art history in the College of Arts and Architecture, has been named a Guggenheim Fellow and Institute for Advanced Study scholar for the 2026-27 academic year. She will work on a book about the visual culture of 18th-century Britain. Penn State
- ➤ Proposals from Penn State alumni for summer 2026 LionLink Projects are invited until Friday, May 22 at Penn State’s online platform, as the program aims to connect alumni to support their chapters and offer students and recent graduates resume-building experience. Penn State
- ➤ The Penn State id+ Office will move to the Transportation Services Parking Office at 1 Eisenhower Deck on Monday, June 1 while closing its current location on May 27. Limited emergency support will be provided by email on May 28 and 29. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State named Reynaldo (Reggie) Bustinza as associate vice president for alumni relations and CEO of its Alumni Association, effective July 6, following a nationwide search to replace Paul Clifford; he will lead engagement for over 800,000 alumni worldwide. Penn State
- ➤ The YMCA will offer its Summer Lunch Program this summer to provide weekly meal distributions for children; families must pre-register (one application per family) to pick up meals at designated sites with strict pickup windows. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Lambda Chi Alpha's Zeta Zeta chapter entered a resolution plan after a hazing investigation led to a spring suspension and removal of over 70 members. The chapter must complete training and oversight sessions and implement hazing-prevention measures at its house (351 E. Fairmount Ave.). Onward State
- ➤ Two graphic design students at Penn State's Stuckeman School earned gold awards in the international Graphis New Talent Competition for packaging and branding design. Six other projects received honorable mention under the guidance of professor Emily Burns. Penn State
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Researchers at Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences received a nearly $309,000 grant from the U.S. Geological Survey to study PFAS movement in small agricultural watersheds in the Chesapeake Bay region — the project will guide farmers and watershed managers in reducing contamination risks. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Researchers from Penn State and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee have received a five-year, $3.2 million grant to study brain changes linked to fear memory and PTSD. They will use mouse models to explore how proteins affect genes and may lead to better treatments for anxiety disorders (including why females may be more sensitive). Penn State

- ➤ Special Olympics Pennsylvania kicks off its 15th Annual Be A Fan Torch Run today at 8:00 a.m. in Pittsburgh. Runners will finish in State College on May 21 before the torch is carried to Medlar Field on June 4 to light the Flame of Hope for the Summer Games. Onward State
- ➤ Former Penn State goalkeeper Katherine Asman (100 matches played) was named the Gainbridge Super League Golden Glove winner by Lexington SC on Monday after recording 68 saves in 28 games. She joined Lexington after a stint with Orlando Pride and a Portland Thorns draft. Onward State
- ➤ Former Penn State linebacker Michael Mauti will fly with the Navy Blue Angels on Friday, May 22 during a 45-minute ride in an F/A-18 as part of the Key Influencer program honoring his leadership & contributions to local athletics. Onward State
