CULTURE NEWS

  • Celestial Sounds will perform a free benefit concert to raise food and funds for Grace Lutheran Church’s distribution outreach at 205 S. Garner St on Saturday, June 27 at 4 p.m. (the performance serves as a send-off before the choir leaves for Italy on June 29).  StateCollege.com

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On April 24-25, the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority disposed of over 57,000 pounds of hazardous waste from 983 vehicles at its transfer station (253 Transfer Road), wrapping up Earth Month with participants from 32 municipalities.   StateCollege.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State's Hayley Kitching won her fourth Big Ten 800m title by clocking 2:01.77 at the championships. The Australian native from Coffs Harbour (Australia) will head into the NCAA East First Round later this month.  Daily Collegian
  • On Friday, Penn State track and field athletes competed in the Big Ten Championship as freshman Nolan Carey recorded a seven-meter personal best in the men's javelin throw and Nick Sloff qualified in the 1,500-meter race. Other competitors earned qualifiers in several women's events.  Daily Collegian
  • Graduate student Allon Clay won the men’s 800-meter at the 2026 Outdoor Big Ten Track and Field Championships on Sunday, earning his second straight title and becoming the first Nittany Lion to win the event in nearly 10 years. His performance featured a fast finish at 1:46.58.  Daily Collegian
  • Today, The 107k Podcast hosts Lexie Linderman, Andrew Deal, and Noah Aberegg discussed recent Penn State football commitments; they covered running back recruits Aiden Gibson and Chukwuma Odoh and reported that former Nittany Lions quarterback Drew Allar is shifting his role with the Steelers.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State track star Ajani Dwyer broke his men's 100-meter record with a time of 10.04 seconds during the Big Ten preliminaries and will race at 2:52 p.m. Sunday for a chance at his first title.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State’s senior lacrosse team lost 14 to 10 to No. 1 Princeton on Sunday in the NCAA quarterfinals at Lincoln Financial Field, leaving a legacy of unity that will guide younger players. Alex Ross will join New York Atlas in the PLL as his chapter closes.  Daily Collegian
