- ➤ A partnership between the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and the Acres Project delivered 100 sensory comfort kits to The Corner Room in State College on May 5 to help people with sensory processing disorders feel more at ease in public places. The kits include earmuffs, a coloring book, Play-Doh, and fidget toys and will allow more local spots to join the Sensory Friendly Centre County effort ahead of Penn State commencement and summer visits. - ➤ Movin' On 2025 celebrated its 50th anniversary at IM Fields at Penn State with five musical acts performing in sun and rain, including Fez, Claire Rosinkranz, Baby Tate, Pusha T, and headliner The All-American Rejects—photographers captured the event as local fans braved the weather, and a Nittany Lion also made an appearance. - ➤ Professor Jin Wen was named head of Penn State’s Department of Architectural Engineering, effective Aug. 1 — a national search selected her — and she succeeds interim head Jim Freihaut. - ➤ Penn State men’s hockey has signed standout defenseman Mac Gadowsky, former Nebraska Omaha goaltender Kevin Reidler, and QMJHL goalie Josh Fleming to build a strong roster for the upcoming season. Head coach Guy Gadowsky said Gadowsky—an offensive leader and his son—and the new goaltenders will fill the gap after Arsenii Sergeev signed with the Calgary Flames. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Luke Misa, a 19-year-old center for the Brampton Steelheads who recorded 85 points, 51 goals and 34 assists in 67 games this season, committed to Penn State men’s hockey on Monday — marking the team’s fourth CHL commitment after he was selected in the 5th round of the 2024 NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames. - ➤ Penn State signed three-star linebacker Mathieu Lamah, who announced his commitment Monday from Patriot High School in Virginia.
