- ➤ The Pennsylvania Native Plant Society will host the Central Pennsylvania Native Plant Festival and Sale at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center in State College on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—the event offers over 275 native plant species for sale along with presentations, educational tables, locally prepared food, and live music from The River Band. - ➤ Penn State Extension will host a free one-hour online webinar on home food preservation safety from noon to 1 p.m. May 2 — the session will cover topics such as dry canning, re-use of lids, and hot-fill canning and include a Q&A session for questions. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State Extension and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will host the webinar 'Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteer’s Guide to Safe Food Handling' from 9 a.m. to noon on May 22 to help volunteer organizations learn safe food practices. Participants will cover personal hygiene, time and temperature controls, cross-contamination, cleaning, and event planning — registration costs $5 with a deadline of May 21. Penn State

- ➤ Penn State baseball lost to No. 15 UCLA 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles as the Bruins took control with timely hits and a strong finish+ the Nittany Lions hit few times and will return home to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for Country night on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Onward State
- ➤ Former Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren received a prank call during the NFL Draft while the Jets had the clock at No. 7— his camp said it was from the same number that earlier pranked Shedeur Sanders. The Jets chose Missouri tackle Armand Membou while the Colts later picked Warren at No. 14 overall. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State wrestling affiliates showed strength at the U.S. Open Wrestling Championships this past weekend as five senior-level wrestlers and six U20 wrestlers advanced to the finals; two seniors won gold and many athletes secured decisive technical fall victories—boosting hopes for future matchups. - ➤ Five Nittany Lion players were selected in the NFL Draft held from April 24 to 26 in Green Bay—Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren were chosen in the first round while three others were picked in later rounds. This marks the first time Penn State has had at least five draft picks in eight straight seasons, and four additional players signed as unrestricted free agents. Penn State
- ➤ Sal Wormley, a three-year starter at right guard for Penn State, signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday and will try to earn a spot in the NFL—he said his success would help his family after years of hard work. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State men’s volleyball will face Daemen at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at Daemen’s campus in Amherst, New York in the first round of the expanded NCAA Tournament, streamed on ESPN +. The team will enter the tournament as the lowest seed after clinching its spot by sweeping Princeton in the EIVA championship and will play No. 2 seed Hawaii if it wins. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State Athletics released its official 2025 White Out collection on April 27, featuring Nike-branded T-shirts, long sleeves, and hoodies with 'Greatest Show In College Sports' printed on the classic logo.
