- ➤ Uptown Cheapskate will open at its new location at 522 E. College Ave. on May 1 after closing its current store at 176 Rolling Ridge Drive on April 21 and holding a moving sale with 20% off on April 16–17 and 30% off on April 18–19. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ State College Area High School will have enhanced security today after police arrested a 20-year-old man from Milroy on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and unlawful firearm possession—authorities said he planned an attack on the school later this month and increased police presence and metal detectors will secure the campus with no active threat identified. - ➤ Alpha Phi Sigma returns to Penn State after nearly 20 years and will be recognized as a student organization by the end of the semester to give criminology and related field students a space for networking and scholarships — the university is covering the fees. Daily Collegian

- ➤ On a sunny Sunday at Beard Field, the Penn State softball team lost the series finale to No. 23 Ohio State 14—11 before a packed crowd. The Nittany Lions will face Pittsburgh at 5:30 p.m. today as they continue their homestand. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State baseball lost the rubber game against USC 11—6 as errors and timely hits by USC turned an early lead into a series defeat— the Nittany Lions remain seventh in the Big Ten. The team will host Delaware on Tuesday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for Dollar Dog Night at 5:30 p.m. Onward State
- ➤ On Sunday, Penn State shortstop Ryan Weingartner nearly hit a grand slam as the leadoff hitter before delivering a grand slam in the 11 to 6 loss to USC. He finished 2-for-3 with two walks (his grand slam was his seventh home run of the season). Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State Softball lost two out of three weekend games — scoring a total of 24 runs — to No. 22 Ohio State at home. The team will try to bounce back in upcoming Big Ten contests. Onward State
- ➤ On Sunday, Penn State women's lacrosse beat USC 16-8 in a senior day match honoring eight seniors and three team managers. The win improved their season record to 7-7 and conference record to 5-2 as they prepare to face Johns Hopkins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Baltimore. Daily Collegian
