- ➤ Penn Staters can now register for We Are Weekend, a two-day celebration on June 20-21 at University Park campus hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association. The event will feature a summer solstice party, a silent disco, pickleball tournaments and a ceremony to induct the Class of 1975 as Penn State Pioneers, and early registration is encouraged since some sessions have reached capacity. - ➤ Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna confirmed that at least 12 international Penn State students on student visas had their visas revoked after being cited for retail theft and have (15 days) to leave the country. The office is reviewing how federal authorities learned of their statuses as further actions are planned. ABC 23

- ➤ Christopher Kube, an engineering professor at Penn State, was picked to lead a team on a two-year, $1 million DARPA SURGE grant to build sensors that check for holes in metal 3D printed parts during printing — a method that aims to replace slower, after-the-fact inspections. His team will work with researchers at Argonne National Lab to test the sensors in a laser powder bed fusion printer at Penn State in late 2026. Penn State
- ➤ A special court hearing is scheduled this week for a Penn State Trustee, Barry Fenchak, who filed a lawsuit asking a judge to order his name be added to the Spring Trustee election ballot after a new nominating committee kept him off it. Trustee administrators said Fenchak did not consult with them before filing and denied that the committee is unlawful. ABC 23

- ➤ Rachel Casciano, a Penn State alum, switched to track and field when head injuries ended her other sports and learned in the summer that she had cancer after her parents flagged a swelling on her cheek; she had her thyroid removed and received extra treatment to fight the disease. - ➤ On a cold, wet day in Central Pennsylvania, Penn State baseball fought back in the late innings to beat USC 3-1—improving its season record to 22-10. The team will host Game 2 today at 5:30 p.m.—fans anticipate another strong pitching duel. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State’s men’s hockey player Aiden Fink, a second-year player, was named to the ACHA/CCM Second Team West at the Hobey Baker Ceremony on April 11th and broke school records for points, assists, points per game and power play goals while tying the record for most goals in a season. - ➤ Former Penn State players are now starting spring practice at their new schools as they learn new systems—10 scholarship players have already transferred and more moves may happen when the portal reopens April 16.
