  • The Penn State College of Education’s Center for Science and the Schools announced 27 educators (9 each from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia) have been chosen for the STEM Pioneers Teacher Corps. They will join a four-year program funded by a $5 million NSF grant.  Penn State
  • The new Digital Twins Hub Faculty-in-Residence Program spotlights Penn State researchers who combine digital twins with water treatment projects and undergraduate education at the Center for Immersive Experiences — a team that mentors students with hands-on research and will showcase their work by year-end.  Penn State

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Pennsylvania DEP Secretary Jessica Shirley will deliver the keynote at the 2026 Penn State Climate Solutions Symposium on May 20 at the Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center, detailing the state’s plans for a more resilient environment. The three-day event runs May 18-20.  Penn State
  • Penn State researchers at the College of Agricultural Sciences are developing new tools like the free Open Crop Manager (a web and mobile platform) to help farmers manage pests and unpredictable weather. They are working on natural pest deterrents and robotic systems that could boost yields while cutting pesticide use.  Penn State

  • Penn State women's lacrosse earned a win against Oregon yesterday, 19-9, and climbed from a No. 21 to a No. 18 ranking. The Nittany Lions will face Northwestern Sunday at Panzer Stadium + build on their 11-3 win streak.  Daily Collegian
