- ➤ Four Penn State faculty were named the inaugural Social Science Research Institute and Clinical and Translational Science Institute fellows for the 2025-26 academic year. The fellows will work on projects to align promotion policies with community work and improve faculty mentoring and inclusion in high-impact practices — efforts that will shape policies and support diversity across the university. - ➤ Penn State Extension will offer the free Thrive: Grow webinar series for families and caregivers of children ages 5 to 10 on Tuesdays from May 1 to June 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. to teach routines, praise, discipline, and healthy habits (registration is required by 1:29 p.m. April 28). Penn State

- ➤ Pennsylvania holds its primary election on May 20 and registered voters can request a mail ballot until 5 p.m. on May 13 by following instructions such as using blue or black ink to complete ballots—voters who miss the deadline or make errors may cast provisional ballots in person. - ➤ The League of Women Voters of Centre County will host a Municipal Primary Candidates’ Night at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at the State College Borough Council Chambers (243 S. Allen St.) for candidates in contested races including local school boards and township supervisors. - ➤ Penn State men’s lacrosse faceoff specialist Reid Gills was named to the USILA National Team of the Week after winning eight of nine faceoffs and collecting two ground balls to help secure an 11-8 victory over Michigan on Sunday. The Nittany Lions will face No. 19 Johns Hopkins at 1 p.m. on April 12 at Panzer Stadium — his strong play sparked a 5-1 run in the final quarter — as his performance carries momentum into the next game. - ➤ After breaking a two-game losing streak against Michigan last Sunday, Penn State men's lacrosse coach Jeff Tambroni said the team will work on a more consistent offense as they prepare for their final two Big Ten matchups—he credited senior leadership for boosting team confidence and noted the need to address scoring challenges in practice.
