- ➤ Penn State coach Bill Jeffrey transformed the local soccer program between 1926 and 1952 and led the 1950 U.S. team to a stunning World Cup upset over England, with his legacy honored on campus by the naming of Jeffrey Field (a cherished local landmark). StateCollege.com
