CULTURE NEWS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hundreds of households and businesses in Millheim have been on a boil water advisory for six weeks, but officials expect the final parts to arrive Monday (if repairs proceed as planned) before completing installation and tests to restore safe water. This update reflects ongoing municipal efforts to secure public water.  StateCollege.com

SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State men's volleyball defeated Charleston 3+0 to complete a weekend series sweep with a flurry of key service aces and tight scores. The team will face Sacred Heart in Fairfield next weekend at 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.  Daily Collegian
  • After a mercy-rule win on Friday, Penn State softball returned to Beard Field today for the second game (a three-game series) and dominated Maryland with a 16-4 win in five innings. The team scored 13 runs in the fourth inning to build a strong offensive lead.  Daily Collegian
  • Four-star wide receiver Landon Blum committed to Penn State football for the 2027 season — he recorded 567 yards and nine touchdowns at Woodbine High School under new wide receivers coach Kashif Moore.  Onward State
  • Penn State men's lacrosse lost 11-10 to Johns Hopkins today after a 22-minute scoring drought dashed a five-point lead; Robertson's hat trick sparked a brief rally in a tight game.  Onward State
  • The 1-0 Podcast hosts Avery Hill and Lexie Linderman filmed a discussion today about Penn State’s spring ball under coach Matt Campbell, covering progress across position groups and plans for a future Blue-White Practice.  Daily Collegian
  • Three-star defensive lineman Carter Blattner committed to Penn State football, becoming the first defensive lineman in the 2027 class as he transferred from Northern Highlands High School. He was ranked No. 8 in the state and chose Penn State over USC, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Pitt, and Virginia Tech.  Onward State
  • Penn State Softball ended its Big Ten series with a walk-off win against Maryland on Saturday afternoon and swept the series 2-0. The team will face Northwestern in a new Big Ten series at Nittany Lion Softball Park at Beard Field, with the final game today at 11:30 a.m.  Daily Collegian
  • The Penn State baseball team lost 8 to 7 to No. 19 Nebraska in Lincoln while scoring early runs & building momentum for the weekend series. They will face the Cornhuskers again Saturday night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State men's gymnastics competed in the event finals at the Big Ten Championships in Lincoln, where they did not secure first place + they now prepare for the NCAA Championships on Apr. 17 and 18.  Daily Collegian
