- ➤ Penn State Centre Stage will present Thornton Wilder’s 'Our Town' at the Playhouse Theatre from April 10 to April 18 in University Park. - ➤ On March 25, QS released world university rankings by subject, showing that Penn State ranked in 49 of 55 disciplines in University Park. The university earned top 25 rankings in four areas (mineral and mining engineering, hospitality, petroleum engineering, and materials science) and top 50 in 15. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State Extension is hosting the Boosting Financial Wellness webinar series on April 22, April 29 and May 6 from 9-10 a.m. to help locals organize finances, connect money with healthy habits and improve money conversations; registration costs $10 and ends April 21. Penn State
- ➤ John Sanchez, a longtime Penn State faculty member + award-winning teacher who founded the Traditional American Indian Powwow, died on March 12; colleagues remember his passion for media ethics and community inclusion. Penn State
- ➤ The Social Science Research Institute’s Consortium on Substance Use and Addiction will host its seventh annual, free conference on Monday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eric J. - ➤ Penn State researchers have developed a portable smart bandage that tracks four biomarkers to detect wound infection and inflammation early, and it sends results wirelessly to a mobile app (using laser-induced graphene). Lab tests used an agar gel model to mimic real wound conditions. Penn State

- ➤ Penn State football practiced Thursday morning at Holuba Hall in Happy Valley, with players running drills and ball security exercises as coaches implemented a 9 a.m. start to boost performance.
