  • Local artist Emily Cooper of Faces and Spaces Artistry will host a window egg hunt downtown from April 1 to 30 where 55 businesses display hand-painted eggs for a photo contest. Participants who post 10 or 25 tagged photos will have a chance to win gift cards and a grand prize—an event designed to thank the community and boost her business.  Onward State

  • Buffalo Wild Wings opened its new downtown location at 134 S. Garner St. in the Maxxen Building today — run by Grube Inc. and featuring a 14x8 digital screen — to offer local sports fans a modern game-day experience. The restaurant serves award-winning chicken wings, burgers, and 30 beers on tap and is open from 11 a.m. to midnight on weekdays with extended hours on weekends.  Downtown State College

CULTURE NEWS

  • Penn State School of Music will host the debut performance of the Penn State Rock Ensemble on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the School of Music Recital Hall. Jesse Moore leads the diverse group of students who have rehearsed weekly to perform rock and metal songs from the 20th and 21st centuries.  Onward State

  • Penn State head coach James Franklin previewed the upcoming spring season in a 45-minute interview with local media on Tuesday afternoon and explained what fans can expect from the practices.  PennLive
  • Penn State wrestling earned its second Class of 2026 commitment as Jayden James flipped his commitment from Virginia Tech—he is ranked No. 4 by FloWrestling and won a state title at 150 pounds—projecting to wrestle at 174 pounds for the Nittany Lions.  Daily Collegian
  • State College girls lacrosse beat Carlisle 18 to 6 on Tuesday as Ella Tambroni and Emma Lally each scored four goals. Lanie Herlocher recorded a hat trick and other players also scored multiple goals — showing the team's strong performance.  PennLive
