- ➤ Researchers in University Park recently found that an atom-thin material (CrOCl) outperforms conventional hard mask materials under plasma etching for chip patterning. They said further work is needed to scale up production before it is used in advanced electronics manufacturing. Penn State
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Solar panels are being installed on the State College Food Bank building at 169 Gerald Street by local company Envinity and will be operational this week; the $750,000 federally funded project will lower energy costs & free up funds to buy more food for those in need. StateCollege.com

- ➤ The No. 18 seed Penn State men’s basketball team is set to play No.15 seed Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament today at the United Center in Chicago (with tipoff at about 7:30 p.m.), hoping to build on lessons from past matchups. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Former Penn State football receiver Jahan Dotson has agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons. He is set to officially sign his contract tomorrow when the new league year begins. Onward State

- ➤ Penn State women's hockey stays No. 3 in the USCHO poll after clinching an NCAA Tournament spot with a win over Mercyhurst at the AHA Championship. They will host their first regional at Pegula Ice Arena + meet the winner of the UConn vs Princeton game on Thursday. Onward State
- ➤ Despite an 8-0 start, the Nittany Lions women's lacrosse team dropped from 17th to 18th in the IWLCA poll after victories over Colgate (20-8) and San Diego State (18-6) on March 9, marking their first 8-0 season since 1991. Daily Collegian

- ➤ Former Penn State punter Jordan Stout agreed on Monday to a three-year, $12.3 million deal with the Giants, setting an NFL record with an average annual salary of $4.1 million. He will sign his contract officially on Wednesday to join former coach John Harbaugh. Onward State
- ➤ After six losing seasons, Penn State fired head coach Carolyn Kieger on Thursday and began a national search for a new Lady Lions coach today.
