  • FedEx will close its longtime shipping center at 2175 Fox Hill Road in Benner Township on May 4 as part of its Network 2.0 overhaul. Customers may still drop off packages at the Print and Ship Center on 1894 N. Atherton St while Penn State awaits formal lease termination notice.  StateCollege.com

  • The 20th annual Penn State Traditional American Indian Powwow will be held March 28–29 at the C3 Sports Complex in State College — free admission offers Native dance, vendors, and traditional foods while honoring veterans and celebrating American Indian culture.  Penn State

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Penn State University Libraries’ Teaching and Learning with Technology is hosting a hybrid Artificial Intelligence Week from April 13 to 17 for faculty and staff. The event will feature a speaker series, hands-on labs, and panels to explore ways AI can improve teaching and creative practices.  Penn State
  • Registration is open for the Schreyer Conference on Teaching and Learning on March 24 via Zoom — the theme is 'Grading Differently' with keynote speaker Robert Talbert and panel discussions featuring faculty and students.   • A Penn State aerospace engineering team was named a stage-two winner for its Emergency Response Flyer in the global GoAERO contest. The team will receive funding to build its unmanned aerial vehicle for a 2027 Final Fly Off at NASA Ames Research Center.  Penn State
  • The Propel Penn State Seed Fund announced its first investment as it invested $50,000 on a convertible note in State College startup X-Hab 3D (an innovator in automated 3D printed infrastructure). Student analysts played a key role in the selection process.  Penn State
  • Graduate and professional students may vote online for GPSA’s 2026-27 Assembly until March 16 at 5 p.m. (voting covers executive board and student caucus delegate roles), with results announced later that day and the next Assembly meeting scheduled for March 18.  Penn State
  • Doctoral student Qian Zhang was awarded the Nico van Wingen Memorial Graduate Fellowship by the Society of Petroleum Engineers Foundation — a $5,000-per-year award for up to four years to support her research on unconventional reservoirs and CO2 injection to lower greenhouse gases.  Penn State
  • Gretchen Watkins, board director at The Mosaic Company and ex-Shell USA president, will give the 2026 G. Albert Shoemaker Lecture at 4 p.m. Friday, April 10 at 22 Deike Building and on Zoom. A free reception starts at 3 p.m. in the Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum & Art Gallery.  Penn State

  • Penn State women’s lacrosse beat Colgate 20-8 in a dominant game as Delaney Radin tied a school record with eight assists, helping the Nittany Lions secure their seventh win in a row. The team will travel to face San Diego State at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.  Onward State
  • Penn State women's hockey will face Mercyhurst in the AHA Championship at Pegula Ice Arena at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Nittany Lions swept Syracuse in the semifinals and will aim for a NCAA tournament spot (renewing a storied rivalry).  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State women's hockey earned nine All-AHA selections and tied the program record with four First Team honorees, with key contributions from Tessa Janecke and Grace Outwater. The team will host Mercyhurst at 2 p.m. Saturday to contest the AHA title.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State men’s basketball lost to Ohio State 94-62 in its final home game on Wednesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center. The Nittany Lions will close out the regular season with their next game on Sunday, Mar. 8 at Jersey Mike’s Arena, broadcast on the Big Ten Network.  Onward State
  • Penn State football offensive lineman Anthony Donkoh will miss spring ball after undergoing an unspecified medical procedure while he gears up for preseason training camp (linebacker Tony Rojas, tight end Andrew Rappleyea, and quarterback Rocco Becht are also recovering from injuries).  Onward State
  • After competing internationally last month at the Winter Olympics, former Penn State women's hockey players Tessa Janecke, Nicole Hall and Matilde Fantin will be honored today during the men's game against Wisconsin with a ceremonial puck drop + autograph session.  Daily Collegian
