COMMUNITY NEWS

  • World Campus students Robert Billings and Jenna Baker returned to dance at THON today at the Bryce Jordan Center, pushing through 46 hours of fundraising for families affected by cancer + balancing full-time work and online courses. Their efforts highlight a tradition that extends Penn State's care beyond University Park.  Onward State

CULTURE NEWS

  • PSU alum Ryaan Farhadi performed in 'Hadestown' on Monday and returns today to his alma mater for a show at 7:30 p.m. in Eisenhower Auditorium, taking roles in the Workers Chorus + as an understudy for Hades.  Penn State

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ten Penn Staters aged 35 and younger will return to University Park on Friday, March 20 at 6 p.m. for the Alumni Achievement Awards where they will share their expertise with students.  Onward State
  • The UPUA today announced two executive tickets for the 21st general assembly—Tyler Mann and Caleb Calderon emphasize strengthening residence hall relationships while Kat Hogan and Maria Lopez focus on empowering undergraduates. Undergrads must register by 5 p.m. on March 16; voting is on April 1.  Daily Collegian

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Registration now is open for the 2026 Penn State Climate Solutions Symposium, a three-day event on May 18-20 at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College. The event will bring experts, students and community leaders to explore climate strategies and field trips, with rates through March 31.  Penn State

SPORTS NEWS

  • Student tickets for Penn State men’s hockey Big Ten Quarterfinal at Pegula Ice Arena are now available at $14 through the Student Account Manager or via an email from Penn State Athletics. The game will be played on Wednesday, March 11 at 7 p.m.  Onward State
  • Penn State men's basketball will host Ohio State for Senior Night at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bryce Jordan Center — head coach Mike Rhoades said standout senior Josh Reed is key as they seek a strong finish.  Daily Collegian
  • After an undefeated weekend in the Sunshine State, the Penn State softball team played a 3-2 series in Knoxville, Tennessee, marked by standout pitching (a complete shutout and a no-hitter) and key freshman hits; they now prepare to face No. 11 Virginia Tech at the Hokie Invite.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State women's hockey was ranked No. 3 in the latest USCHO poll after sweeping Syracuse in the AHA semifinals. The Nittany Lions will take on Mercyhurst in the championship on Saturday.  Daily Collegian
  • After an overtime-filled weekend against Notre Dame, Penn State men's hockey dropped to No.6 in the USCHO poll although the team remains at No.5 in the NPI rankings. Junior Aiden Fink + freshman Gavin McKenna helped secure extra points in the nail-biting contests.  Daily Collegian
  • Former Penn State football offensive lineman Juice Scruggs was traded to the Detroit Lions yesterday plus the deal sent a 4th-rounder and a 7th-rounder in exchange for running back David Montgomery. He left Penn State after the 2022 season to play in the NFL.  Onward State
  • Penn State wrestling released the Big Ten Championships pre-seedings, highlighting six No. 1 wrestlers ahead of Saturday's matches at the Bryce Jordan Center; all 10 wrestlers are set to compete for individual and team titles.  Daily Collegian
