SPORTS NEWS

  • Penn State men's basketball clinched a 71-69 win over Iowa at the Bryce Jordan Center on a warm Saturday. Key plays by Cooper Koch and Freddie Dilione V broke a three-game losing streak, and the Nittany Lions will return home Wednesday to face Ohio State at 7:30 p.m.  Daily Collegian
  • No. 15 Penn State men's lacrosse beat Yale 17-7 at Panzer Stadium on the final day of February — marking a season debut ahead of their upcoming game against No. 3 Cornell at 1 p.m.  Daily Collegian
  • On Saturday, No. 25 Penn State softball defeated Appalachian State 10-5 at the Tennessee Invitational — the team built a six-run fourth inning to secure the win.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State senior track athlete Hayley Kitching won the Big Ten 800m title Saturday with a record time of 2:00.55 at the meet + she set school and NCAA records this season that highlight her standout senior campaign.  Daily Collegian
  • Handal Roban won the 2026 Indoor Big Ten 800-meter title on Saturday with a time of 1:46.44, after setting a school record earlier at the ASICS Sound Invite.  Daily Collegian
  • No. 15 Penn State men's lacrosse beat Yale 17-7 Saturday afternoon at Panzer Stadium — 13 players scored as the team improved to a 3-2 record. The Nittany Lions will meet No. 5 Cornell at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 7 at home.  Onward State
  • Penn State men’s hockey split its final regular season road series against Notre Dame as the team earned three of six possible points. They won a shootout Friday night and lost in overtime Saturday before returning to Happy Valley.  StateCollege.com
  • Penn State women’s basketball lost to Indiana 93-59 in their season finale Saturday in Bloomington. The Lady Lions now await the outcome of Purdue vs. Northwestern to see if they will earn a spot in the Big Ten tournament.  Onward State
