- ➤ Yesterday at the Bryce Jordan Center, THON 2026 held a pre-event press conference where Executive Director Ben Roitman and Four Diamonds executives outlined enhanced theme hours and all-arena experiences to support dancers and spectators in battling childhood cancer. Onward State
- ➤ Housing Transitions hosted (unmanned) pop-up pantry on Friday, Feb. 13 at its State College location in partnership with Centre Helps and Youth Service Bureau to offer free food, clothing and basics to those in need (no questions asked). Local nonprofits welcomed donations and encouraged community support as supplies continued arriving. StateCollege.com

- ➤ Chad Hanna, a Penn State professor of physics and astronomy, was named distinguished professor for his leadership in gravitational wave research with LIGO. He is one of 14 faculty honored this year. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State's College of the Liberal Arts launched its year-long 'Moments of Change: Fragmentation' theme to study how society disconnects, starting with a lecture on Feb. 25 (062 Willard Building) on the fall of the Roman Empire and another on April 15 discussing academic freedom; events continue through spring. - ➤ Penn State's Board approved an $80M renovation on Pollock Halls, with work on Hiester and Shulze halls set to begin in May at University Park campus. The project upgrades building systems + ADA access, preserves bed count, and will finish in July. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Penn State has launched a new undergraduate major in sustainability, society and environmental geography to train students in environmental policy, planning and equity.
