- ➤ THON 2026 will be held at the Bryce Jordan Center from Friday, Feb. 20 through Sunday, Feb. 22, offering free entry for students & public. Attendees must collect a wristband at will-call, follow the clear bag policy, and enjoy a pep rally, concert, and Final Four performance. Onward State

- ➤ Kahlie Wray was elected as The Daily Collegian’s editor-in-chief for the 2026-27 term on Thursday night at a Collegian Board meeting. The third-year who served as managing editor said she is excited to bring innovation to campus journalism + unite diverse campus voices. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Student Farm Club held its second annual food justice summit (featuring Penn State officials and student panels) at the HUB-Robeson Center on Thursday, Feb. 12. The event focused on food insecurity and ways to drive change at the university and in the community. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State alumna Kayla King-Majstorovic built a versatile international career through roles at WHO and Global Health Strategies after studying at the School of International Affairs. She now works as an independent consultant, supporting humanitarian efforts worldwide. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State alumna Melanie Querry donated $50,000 to help fund the AAF National Student Advertising Competition; her gift will cover expenses such as materials and travel for the student team as they prepare for national finals. This support aims to bolster the hands-on learning experience for future communications leaders. Penn State
- ➤ Zachary Newsome, a graduate student in Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences, was named a 2025 Dr. James Watson Fellow by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and received a $5,000 scholarship after attending their annual conference in Orlando earlier this month. - ➤ Centre Safe and other local organizations are urging lawmakers to increase funding for rape crisis centers after Gov. Shapiro proposed keeping the budget at $12.1 million for 2026-27. They say the unchanged amount could lead to longer wait times and insufficient support for victims. StateCollege.com

- ➤ After hosting nearly 75,000 fans at Beaver Stadium, Penn State men's hockey heads to Yost Ice Arena today at 6:30 p.m. against No. 2 Michigan (following a bye week to recover from injuries) as they refocus for the game. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State field hockey junior goalkeeper Aby Deverka was named to the U.S. U21 Women's National Team on Wednesday after attending a national camp. She posted 70 saves + a 63.6% save percentage in 17 games last season. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Today at 10:40 a.m., Nicole Hall and Jessica Adolfsson will represent Team Sweden in the women’s Olympic quarterfinal game against Team Czechia, following a strong round-robin where Sweden won all four matchups (Hall has yet to score while Adolfsson recorded one goal and a +6 rating). - ➤ Penn State alum Daniel Barefoot competed in the first two skeleton heats on Thursday morning, finishing 18th in both rounds with times of 57.47 and 57.22 seconds, and will run Heat 3 at 1:30 p.m. and Heat 4 at 3:05 p.m. today. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Former Penn State women's volleyball assistant coach Michael Henchy was named head coach at UC Santa Barbara on Thursday after helping win the 2024 NCAA Championship at Penn State. The coach spent two years developing top players there and now returns to California to lead the Gauchos next season. Onward State
- ➤ The No. 1 Penn State wrestling team is set to face No. 2 Ohio State today at 7 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. Coach Cael Sanderson (head coach) said both teams are ready to test their unbeaten streaks in a key matchup. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Penn State Lady Lions lost 81-62 to No. 20 Maryland on Friday, Feb. 13 at Rec Hall. The team will host Northwestern on Sunday, Feb. 15 (4 p.m.) for a shot at earning a Big Ten Tournament bid. Onward State
