CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Organizers of the 20th annual Penn State Traditional American Indian Powwow are seeking volunteers for the free event at C3 Sports Arena in State College on March 28-29. Volunteers will work four-hour shifts to help with setup, tear down, kitchen, and dance arena operations. Penn State
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mark Rameker has been named associate dean of operations at Eberly College of Science effective March 1 (Penn State’s main campus). He will manage core operations offices and coordinate college-wide projects to support the college’s strategic plan. Penn State
- ➤ A Penn State team earned a bronze medal at the East Central North American regional contest and advanced to the ICPC North American Championship. The team (Barbell) competed with two students among 83 teams and will now vie for a spot in the ICPC World Finals. Penn State
- ➤ THON 2026 will run Feb. 20-22 and invite Penn Staters to support the fight against childhood cancer through virtual runs and local events (including a pep rally white out at the Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday, Feb. 21). Penn State
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Penn State women's hockey forward Matilde Fantin scored two goals to help Italy beat Japan 3-2 at the Olympics. She will face Germany at 10:40 a.m. today in their final preliminary game. Daily Collegian
- ➤ Penn State women's hockey remains at No. 4 in the USCHO rankings after sweeping Lindenwood 11—3 and keeping its top AHA ranking. The team will face RIT at home Friday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State field hockey released its 2026 spring schedule on Monday with five exhibition games planned for March and April. The season starts against Bucknell on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m. and ends with Lock Haven on Sunday, April 26 + new head coach Hannah Price makes her debut. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State has named Rocco Becht, a transfer from Iowa State, as its starting quarterback, ending the multi-year streak in Happy Valley. Coach Matt Campbell praised Becht's leadership + resilience and said he will guide the team when the new season begins. StateCollege.com
