- ➤ Local musicians will perform in a pay-what-you-will benefit concert at South Hills School of Business and Technology in State College on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. Proceeds will equally support five agencies fighting housing insecurity and free food will be available with donations. - ➤ A strong storm dumped over a foot of snow on Centre County on Sunday, with Port Matilda recording 15.5 inches and State College up to 13 inches, forcing school closures and snow emergencies to clear streets. StateCollege.com

- ➤ Local health experts report that allergies are increasing as longer pollen seasons and Western diets contribute, and Geisinger’s Dr. Neil Baman at Scenery Park advises patients to track symptoms (and potential triggers) before seeking treatment. StateCollege.com
- ➤ Penn State food scientists received a two-year, $428,200 NIH grant to test if milk protein (casein) can create child-friendly, ethanol-free liquid medications. The project will optimize formulations and begin testing bioavailability in animals. Penn State

- ➤ Former Penn State quarterback Bekkem Kritza announced his transfer to Alabama A&M on Monday after not playing last season in a crowded quarterback room. He has four years of eligibility remaining and is the third QB to move from Penn State. Onward State
- ➤ Penn State women’s hockey held No. 4 in the USCHO poll with a 24-4 record and clinched the AHA regular-season title with a 7-0 win over Delaware. The team meets Robert Morris Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Beaver Stadium, then Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Pegula Ice Arena. Onward State

- ➤ Penn State product Yanic Konan Niederhauser has joined the Clippers’ G-League team for the NBA Rising Stars Challenge ahead of the All-Star weekend. He debuted on Oct. 22 in 25 NBA games and has averaged 3.6 points, while also posting 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in eight G-League contests. Onward State
