  • On Monday, Jan. 19, students gathered in the HUB-Robeson Center to honor Dr. King's legacy with a Day of Service that featured breakfast, a keynote speech, and volunteer work with local nonprofits (Centre Safe, Jana Marie Foundation) in University Park.  Daily Collegian

  • The Student Book Store on College Avenue announced on Sunday a Penn State Carhartt apparel collaboration featuring a dark blue zip-up jacket with the Nittany Lions logo priced at $199.99 and a brown knit cuffed beanie at $49.99, available online and downtown.  Onward State

SPORTS NEWS

  • During the Big Ten basketball season, Purdue and Nebraska recorded strong wins while Penn State and Northwestern struggled, each losing by 11 points recently.   • Penn State men's volleyball is now ranked No. 10 in the AVCA poll after beating No. 9 Lewis to start the season 4-0. The team will travel to McKendree on Friday and host No. 3 Hawaii later this weekend.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State hockey captain Dane Dowiak is celebrated for his authentic leadership & hard work, which helped inspire his teammates to rally for a comeback win against Michigan at Pegula Ice Arena. His team-first attitude has contributed to an impressive season start.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State wrestlers dominated Iowa 32-3 on Friday at University Park, highlighting a season of record-setting wins and national titles. The strong performance reinforces the Nittany Lions’ ongoing dominance in collegiate wrestling.  Daily Collegian
  • The Lady Lions lost two Big Ten games last week in University Park plus a heavy defeat against Ohio State and a close contest with Rutgers. Center Gracie Merkle posted a double-double as the team remains winless in conference play.  Daily Collegian
  • After sweeping Notre Dame, Penn State men’s hockey kept its No. 8 ranking with a 16-6-0 record and will play a two-game series against No. 5 Wisconsin in Madison starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23.  Onward State
  • Junior Landon Simpson won the All-Around title at West Point Open and will compete at the Winter Cup in Louisville next month—Feb. 21-22. The event is a chance to earn a spot at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships.  Daily Collegian
  • The Penn State women’s hockey team remains at No. 4 in the USCHO poll after sweeping Syracuse and will face No. 12 Cornell Tuesday night — then host Delaware for a conference series this weekend.  Daily Collegian
