- ➤ New York-based Saratoga Casino Holdings LLC has become majority owner of Happy Valley Casino at the Nittany Mall in College Township after finalizing a framework agreement with SC Gaming LLC. - ➤ Penn State Dickinson Law’s Dean Danielle M. Conway was elected president of the Association of American Law Schools on Jan. 9 in New Orleans. - ➤ Penn State named Jay E. Davenport as vice president of development and alumni relations to lead a new $67 million fundraising campaign starting March 1. - ➤ On Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, Penn State World Campus held a Military Honor Cord ceremony in University Park, recognizing veteran and military students with honor cords presented by Allan Sonsteby. - ➤ Xingjie Ni, an associate professor of electrical engineering at Penn State, was elected a 2026 fellow of Optica — an international society that honors exceptional contributions in optics and photonics. - ➤ Penn State postdoc David Zhang earned the American Vacuum Society’s Thin Film Division Distinguished Technologist Award for growing ultra-pure chalcogenide materials. - ➤ Penn State's Christos Argyropoulos was named IEEE Fellow for his work on electromagnetic research in metamaterials and nanophotonics. His recognition reflects the honor bestowed annually on fewer than 0.1% of IEEE members. Penn State
- ➤ Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute announced its BERD (Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design) Research Methods Seminar Series for spring.
