SPORTS NEWS

  • Three-star wide receiver Amarion Jackson (class of 2026) committed to Penn State football Saturday night after Iowa State released him on Dec. 10. He is ranked No. 5 in Nebraska and has posted 3,321 receiving yards in high school.  Onward State
  • Penn State football tight end Andrew Olesh entered the transfer portal. The recruit (a four-star player from Southern Lehigh High School with four years of eligibility) was ranked as Pennsylvania’s top player in the class of 2025 and is the 35th Nittany Lion to make the move.  Onward State
  • Penn State football defensive tackle Owen Wafle entered the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining after playing in nine games on special teams last season. The Princeton native, who joined Penn State from Michigan in January, now seeks his third program.  Onward State
  • Penn State safety Antoine Belgrave-Shorter entered the transfer portal after losing his starting spot within three games; he played in nine matches with 14 tackles and is the 32nd Lion to make the move. The news came on January 3.  Onward State
  • Four-star junior tight end Benjamin Brahmer will transfer to Penn State football, leaving Iowa State after posting 37 receptions and 6 touchdowns last season + he is the first former Cyclone to commit, joining Andrew Rappleyea under coach Matt Campbell.  Onward State
  • Benjamin Brahmer (No. 30 in the portal) is transferring from Iowa State to join Penn State as a senior tight end. He recorded 446 receiving yards last season and is the first transfer addition following Luke Reynolds’ departure.  Daily Collegian
  • Mason Robinson announced on Saturday he will return for the 2026 season after not playing in three seasons due to injury — his comeback strengthens coach Ikaika Malloe's defensive line.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State offensive lineman Dom Rulli (who appeared in 42 games over four seasons) announced on Saturday night that he will return for the 2026 season and support special teams by providing backup and contributing on key plays.  Daily Collegian
  • Penn State football is active in the transfer portal after losing several players recently and recruiting from Iowa State. Tight end Benjamin Brahmer committed on Jan. 3 with a record of 75 catches, 977 yards, and nine touchdowns over three seasons — a strong addition for the Nittany Lions.  StateCollege.com
  • Penn State football tight end Matt Henderson, a 6-ft-5, 246-pound player who redshirted by playing in four games in 2025, entered the transfer portal on Saturday, Jan. 3. He picked the Nittany Lions over Michigan State when he was recruited.  Onward State
  • On Jan. 3, Penn State announced that linebacker Dakaari Nelson, tight end Matt Henderson, and safety Antoine Belgrave-Shorter entered the transfer portal. Nelson appeared in 12 games, Belgrave-Shorter played in nine, and Henderson in five, altering the program's roster + scholarship allocations.  Daily Collegian
  • The No.4 Penn State women’s hockey team lost 4-1 to Ohio State Saturday evening amid nine penalties, with Tessa Janecke setting the program’s goal record. The Nittany Lions will next play Mercyhurst on Friday, Jan. 9 at the Mercyhurst Ice Center in Erie.  Onward State
  • Amarion Jackson, a 3-star wide receiver from Omaha (Nebraska), has committed to Penn State today after his Iowa State signing was voided. He will follow coach Matt Campbell to join the Nittany Lions.  Daily Collegian
  • Zion Tracy announced on Saturday night via Instagram that he will return for the 2026 season after missing the opener due to injury, joining freshman cornerback Jahmir Joseph on the Nittany Lions roster. The decision comes as both players continue to impress on campus.  Daily Collegian
  • Three-star wide receiver Amarion Jackson, a former Cyclone, committed to Penn State late Saturday — after his release from Iowa State, he will join coach Matt Campbell in State College. His move boosts the university's recruiting class.  StateCollege.com
